The entire movie is predicated on the mission to find The Blair Witch Project's Heather, but there exists the very real possibility that this gangly creature stalking the campers in the woods actually is Heather. However, there's also another intriguing possibility that Simon Barrett's words present to us. We saw the puppet we just didn't see the master. Given the similarities between the creature's limbs and the injuries that Kedward suffered during her execution, this continues to be a very viable option. Although it had previously been assumed that The Witch was Elly Kedward - a woman executed for witchcraft hundreds of years ago - Barrett's confession could possibly indicate that Kedward is simply an avatar being used to commit these acts by the unseen Witch. This revelation opens up a number of possibilities regarding the identity of the creature, as well as The Witch herself. In fact, he admitted that we never once see the actual Blair Witch throughout the course of the film. However, now it seems that we may have to reevaluate everything we think we know about the film. A surprise follow-up to the 1999 horror masterpiece, The Blair Witch Project, many people complained that Blair Witch simply showed too much of the titular monster, which in turn ruined the suspense. It's been an absolutely phenomenal year for horror films, which made it all the more disappointing when the highly anticipated Blair Witch fell short of expectations and received generally lukewarm reviews.
